Scientific career

Andreas Fischer, studied Fine Arts, graduate and master student at the Berlin University of the Arts. Freelance activities in artistic and museum practice, including as an exhibition curator and in the context of film projects. Since 1998 research assistant at IGPP.

Fields of work / research interests

His research and activities focus on the photographic history of occultism and parapsychology, the influence of magical, esoteric and occult traditions on the visual arts and historical parapsychology. One of his main interests at the moment is the history of mediumistic art.

Scientific collaboration and curatorial responsibility for exhibition projects on the art and cultural history of occultism.

Supervision of the archive of IGPP and scientific processing of archival holdings such as the estates of Albert von Schrenck-Notzing (1862-1929) and Louis Darget (1847-1921) as well as the audio, photo and film collection.
