»In 1973 the United States of America was witness to one of the largest UFO ‘flaps’ in history. Some have even termed it as ‘The Year Of The Humanoids’. The epicentre of this flap was October and one small town in Mississippi would see one of, if not the best documented close encounter case (alien abduction) on the record.

This encounter took place on the Pascagoula River, Mississippi on October 11th, 1973. Two local residents, Charles Hickson (aged 42) and Calvin Parker (aged 19) were the main witnesses to this incredible case. Within hours of the incident happening both men were working with local law enforcement who documented their encounter with a UFO and three bizarre humanoid creatures. In the following days the case hit the news headlines around the world. Charles Hickson took the lead when it came to talking to the media and Calvin Parker purposely faded into the background. UFO researchers Dr James Harder and Dr J. Allen Hynek were on the scene within days of it happening. Both men openly stated that they believed both Hickson and Parker.

While he was there in October 1973 Dr Harder conducted regressive hypnosis on both witnesses. Calvin Parker’s hypnosis was quickly terminated as he was still in shock but Charles Hickson’s hypnosis seemed to be successful. No recording of this early hypnosis seems to exist.

Down the years both Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker would undergo further hypnosis conducted by a number of different individuals including Dr James Harder, John Krauss, Dr Leo Sprinkle, Kathleen Marden, Crystal Slaughter and Budd Hopkins.

In 2018 Calvin Parker wrote his own book on this encounter and local publicity persuaded a number of new witnesses to step forward. Two such witnesses were Mr Vernon ‘Jerry’ Blair and his wife Mrs Maria Blair. Both had been on the opposite side of the Pascagoula River that night of October 11th, 1973. They had witnessed the blue-colored UFO flying over the other side of the river at the time and location where Parker and Hickson were located. Both Mr and Mrs Blair informed researchers Philip Mantle and Dr Irena Scott of their sighting of the blue-colored UFO and also witnessing a ‘grey humanoid’ in the water next to them. Eventually Mr Blair revealed that he and his wife had also undergone a close encounter that night.

Mr Blair was very ill and he wanted to tell his story before it was too late. This he did and sadly passed away in 2021. Mrs Blair was still looking for answers to what had happened to them that night. She had vague memories of seeing something out of her peripheral vision. In the end she too went under regressive hypnosis in 2022.

This book may possible be one for the collectors. It begins with a summary of the Parker and Hickson encounter and then a summary of the Mr and Mrs Blair’s encounter. Following this there are transcripts of the numerous hypnosis sessions undertaken by Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker and finally the full transcript of Mrs Blair’s hypnosis.
Kathleen Marden provides a fascinating piece on how and why regressive hypnosis does indeed work. Three abductees give their comments also. These are Rosalind Reynolds from the UK, Debbie Kauble from the USA and of course Calvin Parker. All three close encounter witnesses provide a statement regarding the use of regressive hypnosis in such close encounter cases.

The idea of the book is to look at the use of regressive hypnosis in such cases and compare the conscious testimony with the data revealed under hypnosis.
